Arena Theater 2010-2011 Season

Great Expectations-

adapted by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod from the novel by Charles Dickens

October 28- November 6, 2010

Dickens' most unsentimental love story is re-imagined in this new theatrical version as we join Pip in his search for identity.  It is an evening of masterful storytelling, plot twists, and unforgettable characters.

Eurydice

by Sarah Ruhl

February 17-26, 2011

When Eurydice goes missing on her wedding day, her groom, Orpheus, pursues her relentlessly- past life as we know it into the depths of the underworld.  Sarah Ruhl's stunning play about love, loss, and the importance of memory.

Nickel and Dimed

adapted by Joan Holden, based on the prize winning investigative work of Barbara Ehrenriech

April 7-16, 2011

At a time when we are all focused on finding an economic survival strategy, the play explores what it means to eke out a living on minimum wage.  Written with courage and a deep sense of empathy for the working poor- it is both hysterically funny and poignantly eye-popping.
